It seems the Australian Blogging Conference which was supposed to happen this month in Melbourne, Victoria, and which I mentioned in my post some days ago on Aussie Blogs, is off – and the promoter, Mick Stanic, hopes that means postponed, not cancelled.
It appears that the Australian business community was not prepared to commit some meagre resources to make the conference happen – which is consistent with my comment about where business is in Australia with regard to blogging, in the same Aussie Blogs post referred to above.
Maybe it’s the usual story about innovation: someone has to go to the USA and find there are business blogging conferences all over, and then it will be ok here – I thought we’d got over that cultural/technological cringe, but maybe not.
But I suspect there are companies out there who would kick in with some sponsorship if the right connections could be made.
