My colleague Bill Vick, co-author with me of LinkedIn for Recruiting and Big Biller is such an early adopter with technology that sometimes I find it a challenge to keep up.
His latest ground-breaking venture is the video blogging site XtremeRecruiting.tv with video interviews about “the collision of recruitment and technology”.
I was delighted to see that one of the people he has interviewed is Sherman Hu, well known blog strategist, online search expert and creator of WordPress Tutorials. Last year I sat in on Sherman’s session at BlogWorld Expo and was very impressed. I know from my own endeavours in explaining blogging for business that it can be quite challenging to do that in a way which is really clear to people not familiar with blogging. Sherman was clear, thorough and very entertaining.
He has a passion and a skill for explaining social media so that business people can understand it.
In his interview on XtremeRecruiting.tv Sherman shares valuable information, especially about how recruiters and other business people can use video to get their message across and build their reputation.
He recommends strongly that business people read up on Web 2.0 and understand what is happening now in online marketing.
He talks about why recruiters and other business people need to start blogging and how they can get started.
Takeaway: video is the hot medium of 2008 and any of us who want to succeed online need to use it – e.g. as Bill is using it with XtremeRecruiting.tv.
Did I say Sherman emphasizes using video? 🙂
