Happy New Year - Again

By Des Walsh | Feb 7, 2008

I’ve never been really effective at the New Year resolutions made on or around January 1st. For one thing, it’s high summer in Australia and what with the call of the beach and the barbecue and the cry of “Have another beer!” echoing throughout the land, it’s not an easy call to think about all those improvements one needs to make, goals to hit, barriers to overcome.

So one of the neat things about having Chinese friends, not to mention family, friends and colleagues with connections to China and/or Chinese culture, is that I can tell myself, as I do, that I have a kind of vicarious opportunity to start the year again, in terms of making resolutions and developing good habits.

So Happy New Year, everyone!
