George
Thanks for the link to Fwicki. Can you do enough with the free level of membership to make it worthwhile joining, or do you need to have a paid memebership to get practical results? I could not figure that out from the site.

It is certain that everyone wants more traffic, for sure! And, I agree totally about using the social sites to increase exposure.

I have found that working with rss is a great way to get ongoing traffic to a site. I know from working with bloggers and business site owners that many are intimidated by rss. But rss can be leveraged to increase traffic and sales. In my opinion, rss has more potential than many realize.

I recommend taking advantage of the potential of rss and working with that for a year or so. It takes time (but so does anything online that is real and worthwhile) but the payoff can be substantial.

Fwicki is the perfect combination of rss tools and social attributes. If you are a site owner looking for traffic and more sales, you will be well advised to spend some time learning about Fwicki and using it to get more traffic.

Yes, Tinu is good value. I think you are right about the social sites. I started doing a cull the other day on FB, leaving groups I never visit and rejecting invitations to others (decided to risk offending a few people as the lesser of two evils).

Des, hi, thanks for pointing out Tinu's blog.

Reading the 8 New Traffic Resolutions post brought an encouraging thought to my mind: From the frantic 'you must join every social site going and get to know everyone there is to know' environment that existed for much of 2007, maybe the pendulum is swinging back to a less frantic and more time-effective balance..?

I hope so - I found last year's environment simply took up too much of my time, which could be more profitably spent elsewhere.
