I found this especially interesting offering an unexpected insight into how another culture views the 'work from home' phenomenon. Five years hence I wonder if we will see a shift in thinking. An enjoyable read.

Best wishes

As a person who writes on this subject as well, it seems to me that allowing employees to telecommute is a mind set that even in our western culture is often hesitantly adopted by supervisors who still believe in the old school, "I need to see them at their desk" philosophy or the "My clients want to see me in person". With time as more people find they can make honest connections by phone and internet that are more than superficial, I believe we will see a greater move to working from home. China proves it's not just about the technology - it's about the cultural belief.

I also believe that as more people and businesses begin to realize the importance of living "green", telecommuting will become not ony a luxury but a necessity for aiding our environment.
