I would take good, quality content any day of the week... then I would go back and SEO it!

I'm actually doing that for one of my friends. He likes to give his opinions. So, I asked him to email his opinions about the news everyday. He sits down and writes out what he thinks... then I'll go and post it on a blog for him and make sure it is has the right SEO tagging.

Mikes last blog post..<a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/tradeseo/~3/320575727/" rel="nofollow">How To Sell To The Rich Part 2</a>

I think if we just leave out the seo part and 'content is king' for a moment, you've got to place yourself as a reader of a useful, interesting blog that he s searching for. Even little things like pictures, graphics, an ingenious blog contest are some things that attract people to your blog.

"I am pretty sure that a close examination of this blog - or perhaps even a cursory one - would find my aptitude in the science or art of SEO somewhat lacking" - it's results that count, and you aren't going too far wrong with a PR5 blog...

SEO is primarily wordsmithery. to write a well SEO'd blog you just need to think about the words you want to be found for, and mainly get them in the titles and get the blog set up SEO friendly. Blogger ones even come straight out of the box like that :) you'd be amazed at what you can rank for with a blogger blog, never mind a wordpress beastie
