I enjoyed your post. I am currently working my home business part time so I have yet to enjoy the real freedom you talked about. I am really looking forward to the day when I get to "fire the boss" and focus on my business full time. I am still carrying this "burden" you talked about but I really prefer to call it my motivation for carrying on until my dream day comes to have only one boss - me.

I'm self employed and work from home also. To me the biggest and most important thing is Freedom. The freedom to work when I want and do what ever I want when I want. Of course it has it's downsides such as I actually properly work a lot more then if I had to go to an office. But that is my choice, and if I don't want to work I don't - Freedom is the word for me!

Des,
I really enjoy, that I have no travel time very day.
Rahter than commuting every day for at least 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening, I prefer to travel some hours once or twice a week to my customers.
Than I really enjoy, that I can work, whenever I like, wether it is early in the morning at 4 am (which I prefer sometime in summer) or late at night. Even if I am working on some days more than 8 hours, who cares. As long as I love what I do, I would not call it "work".
