Last week I made the time to call an old friend, last month the father of a friend I had lost contact with, and both times felt vitalized after our conversations. As the years pass, my crises change, but genuine friendship does not. I owe someone else a call-someone who considered me her best friend the last time I talked to her over a year ago.
