Actually I have to speak up here. It is true that I use Wordpress and that the Irish humor site came packaged. I probably would have never found it otherwise.

But as I was deleting the other "pre-installed garbage" from my blog roll this one caught my fancy and made me laugh.

So both, are in fact, the case. The humor caught me, and I thought it worth keeping the link even though it was (typically) unrelated to economics, but I found it as a result of it being pre-installed.

Donncha is a developer for Wordpress. The developers blogs are in the default blogroll for all wordpress installs, thus why Donncha is in the Technorati top 100.

I think you read a bit too much into the reason behind Donncha's blog being linked to. Donncha is a contributor to the popular blogging platform "Wordpress" and every version of Wordpress that is downloaded ships complete with 5 (or 6, can't quite remember) links to the developers blogs which can be removed via the admin panel. While admittedly I only quickly scanned your article, I'll throw up the suggestion that the link to Donncha's blog because it hasn't been deleted yet.
